Mac Stone Lipstick [new matte formula]

Ever since I purged my stash a few months ago, I have had a ton of MAC products to Back to Mac (you can trade in 6 plastic empties for one free lipstick). Anything that I decided to get rid of, I have continued to hoard, just in a different section of my makeup collection. Why would I get rid of something when I can Back to Mac it for free things? In my last trip to Mac I returned 12 empty/old MAC items and received two lipsticks. I picked up Ruby Woo and Stone. Stone is the star of this show today.

People have raved about Stone lip liner for years. I am not the kind of person that wears lip liner, with or without lipstick. I find them drying, hard to apply and overall pretty useless. Mac turned Stone and Whirl lip liners into lipsticks with the recent launch of their matte lipstick collection and I couldn't be happier. Stone is absolutely gorgeous! In the bullet, the colour is slightly terrifying. It looks like a deep brown. Brown lips are in now, but I don't know if it's something that I could rock. But when I swatched this colour it wasn't really brown or grey. It is a perfect mix of the two with a bit of taupey-purple mixed in. It is so hard to describe but on the lips it looks amazing.

 

The colour is unique and something that I definitely do not have in my collection. It is amazing and I cannot rave about it enough. I honestly wasn't sure if it would work for me. But I am so glad that I picked it up. Once applied on the lips it just works somehow. If you like dramatic lips or vampy lips, you are going to like this lip colour. Or if you are just looking for something different, this is it! The formula of MAC's regular matte line is fantastic. They make great matte lipsticks and this is no exception. I am over the moon for this lip colour and if you are thinking about it, just bite the bullet!
